Having worked together for 10 years, Anna Barber and James Gavigan founded House of Kin. They believe that good design allows both children and adults to be inspired together, enjoying the same environment and creating lasting memories.

With extensive international experience, the team has worked on projects across the globe including France, Nigeria, China, Singapore, Ireland, Hong Kong and Japan. They are used to dealing with different cultures and understand how environments can affect production, build and most importantly, play.

Anna has more than a decade with International family lifestyle brand Maggie & Rose who led the way in making kid’s spaces cool.

Designing and opening multiple clubs and nurseries across the globe, Anna has established a track record of effortlessly combining the commercial needs of a business, whilst injecting adventure for little ones and style for grown ups.

As a mother of two young children, she understands the need for both functional and beautiful design in the home. She thrives on creating practical design solutions to improve your family life.

With over 16 years experience, James has worked internationally for a range of high end brands such as Facebook, Uber and Google, all of whom benefitted from his drive to deliver memorable environments they can be proud of. His technical knowledge, creative design and project management skills are evident in all projects.

With a background in cinema and TV, his love for creating the narrative of a space jumps from screen to real life.

No design studio is complete with out a dog!  No one is sure what breed Marni is, she was rescued from the streets of Hungary.  But we can tell you that she loves cuddles, chasing squirrels and chewing your pencil if you drop it on the floor.
