Miss Daisy's Belgravia

The Miss Daisy's nursery group approached us for a change in interior narrative to match their incredibly high standard childcare and education provision. We carefully crafted a concept that honoured the original concept of a village nursery, and modernised it by creating a forest school on the edge of an imaginary village. We were first tasked with remodeling a new site in Belgravia set between two former grand residences from the 1800s. A warren of rooms, badly planned and leaking extensions, and multiple levels all added up to a place that deserved more than a dollop of TLC and fantastic burst of colour! Lacking an outdoor area, we worked with specialists to remove walls and floors and install a towering 7 metre tall play structure inspired by the old brick pottery ovens that dot the land from a bygone industrial era. Forest greens met muted pinks in everywhere from thier forest clearing classroom to the arched mossy library. We were delighted to be asked to complete another 3 Miss Daisy schools around London following the success of this project!

"What sets House of Kin apart is their genuine interest in how our settings will be experienced by children & adults", Zanna Clarke - Principal of Miss Daisy's Nursery Schools
