MISS DAISY'S, BELGRAVIA
House of Kin were approached by Miss Daisy’s nursery group because its Belgravia site, nestled between two grand buildings, far from matched up to the standard of childcare provided.
A warren of badly planned rooms, leaking extensions and neglected upper floors, it was calling out for some HoK TLC!
Our concept for the space was a forest school at the edge of a village and so the building now features forest greens and muted pinks for the forest clearing-style classroom and arched mossy library.
One of our biggest challenges was the lack of outdoor space. We worked with specialists to remove walls and floors and to install a 7-metre play structure inspired by brick pottery ovens.
The project was so well received that we’ve since been asked back to complete another three Miss Daisy sites around London.
